Final Report of the LIFE EUROKITE Project is Published
The final report of the LIFE EUROKITE project has been officially published on the Hessen State Planning Portal.
The report, titled “Tagging of Red Kites and Honey Buzzards in Hesse 2021–2024”, presents the results of extensive satellite tracking and monitoring of Red Kite and European Honey Buzzard populations in the German federal state of Hesse. The findings provide important insights into migration routes, spatial behavior, and habitat use, contributing to a deeper understanding of the ecological requirements and conservation challenges of these protected bird species.
As a key outcome of the LIFE EUROKITE project, the report supports ongoing international efforts aimed at improving the conservation status of the Red Kite across Europe through coordinated research, monitoring, and knowledge sharing.
